Dr. Phang writes to congratulate Dr. Miller on the success of his soybean work, but urges him to slow up the pace and not work quite so hard. Phang states that the Spring Council of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists voted to postpone the China medical school project indefinitely. Speaks of a meeting between Drs. Newton Evans, Walter e. Macpherson, Professor Frederick Griggs, Dr. Dale and himself to discuss the issue, stating that the main obstacle is finances. Phang writes that Dr. Evans is very enthusiastic. Dr. Phang was asked to become a full-time teacher at the College of Medical Evangelists, Loma Linda, California. He was also asked to return to china and join one of the medical schools there. However, the political situation in China is dire with Japan launching offensives against China.
